Rotimatic has upped its game by adding tortilla making and gluten-free functionality to its roster of capabilities.

Very few foods have the universality and versatility of the elemental flour and water flatbread. It is found in innumerable cuisines, is made in methods unique to its geography, and goes by various names. To bring the ease of making such flatbreads to diverse demography, our engineers have upgraded the software of Rotimatic to now prepare the perfect tortillas as well.

What is Rotimatic?

Rotimatic is the first step AI and robotics has taken to make its way into the household kitchen. This fully automatic flatbread or roti-maker enabled with AI and IoT was conceptualized and created by visionary mechanical engineer Pranoti Nagarkar, and tech-expert and entrepreneur, Rishi Israni. According to Pranoti, “The idea behind Rotimatic is to revive home-cooking and nutritious meals while not compromising on convenience.” The prototype of the Rotimatic appeared first in 2009 and was way ahead of its time. Its current version can connect with wifi and sync with other smart devices, and the team at Zimplistic is constantly upgrading the corresponding app to ensure this be a smooth process.

Since Rotimatic is a robot, it can update its software, troubleshoot when needed, adapt to new cooking styles, and require no further human interference once the ingredients are added in the provided chambers. Flour, water, and oil are poured into their respective compartments by the user, and the subsequent process of measuring and dispensing ingredients, kneading, dividing, flattening, and roasting the dough is executed by Rotimatic. The settings screen allows one to choose the oil content, the thickness of the rotis, to what extent the rotis would be roasted, and the number of rotis to be made in one batch, the maximum being twenty. Almost forgot to mention, Rotimatic also provides a selection of flours to choose from, and has recently added a gluten-free option as well.

Now make tortillas using Rotimatic because…

It saves time, effort, and energy. Whether it be Indian, Italian, or Mexican cuisine – certain dishes rely majorly on the accompanying flatbreads making which is not an easy task. The incorrect proportion of dry and liquid components of the dough mix could result in tortillas that are too dense, too tough, or too dry. The technique and duration of kneading the dough impact its consistency and needs years of practice to ensure that the flatbread turns out exactly as intended every single time. The temperature at which the flatbread is roasted is yet another factor that decides its quality. Making flatbreads manually, therefore, leaves plenty of scope of error.

Rotimatic changes the entire game of making tortillas. On average, an individual consumes about four tortillas a day, and in a family of four, that amounts to sixteen tortillas. Unless one is eager to compromise their gut health to an irreversible extent, choosing to make fresh homemade tortillas over buying frozen ones would be the wiser decision. Rotimatic tortillas are made in 90 seconds, drastically reducing a long-drawn and laborious manual process with high-tech automation. And since Rotimatic is a smart device, a user can be ensured that each Rotimatic tortilla of a batch will have the exact same consistency.

Rotimatic tortillas are a favorite of those people who do not consume Mexican food regularly as well. Walk into any informal party and chances are that you’ll come across people balancing tacos in one hand and a beer in the other. Tortillas are an extremely popular food that enables the creation of diverse dishes and are made in most households. Automating the entire process would free up a sizeable amount of time that a Rotimatic user can invest into some other task without worrying about the tortillas coming out to be substandard or unhealthy.

How popular is Rotimatic?

More than 50,000 families across 20 countries are now using Rotimatic. If we assume that 50,000 families indicate 50,000 units purchased, it would testify a solid increase of 10,000 units since the company reported a sale of 40,000 units in October 2018. And given that Rotimatic can make a range of flatbreads excluding tortillas (flavored rotis, pizza bases, puris, and pearl millet flour flatbread) its customer base is constantly expanding. Currently, Rotimatic is a big hit in the USA, Singapore, Australia, UK, and most other European countries. Clearly, the market is rife with takers who see investing 999 dollars in a high-tech kitchen robot with multiple functionalities worth it. For those in whom Zimplistic’s pet philosophy “happiness is homemade” resonates, Rotimatic is just the thing that can ensure freshly made flatbreads every day.
